Hanging with two of my favorite musos Robert Randolph and Lenesha Randolph
If you haven’t had a chance to catch the latest Robert Randolph and the Family Band Tour, it’s a must!
There are plenty of dates in August and September to catch one of America’s best funk and soul bands led by pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph. Rolling Stone has included Robert Randolph to their list of the 100 greatest guitarist of all time.
Their show was amazingly tight with a very loose feel. Everyone in attendance was on their feet jamming to the irresistible rock ‘n’ roll swagger Robert Randolph and The Family Band have become known for around the world.
Robert announced during the show that their father had received his organ transplant that night and he was doing well. The band was so charged –up from that great news. Mr. Randolph is in all of our prayers at RPM.
The Family Band’s current line-up includes The Blind Boys of Alabama bass player Ray Ladson. Ray’s vocals and all round performance was in the pocket the entire show.
Lenesha’s vocals were phenomenal as expected but at one point Lenesha performed while playing the drums incredibly well.
Ray and Lenesha are performing on one of my new tracks with the great Jimmy Carter I Am With You Still.
Check out the new video below that with special guests Lenesha Randolph and Ray Ladson.
