The Blind Boys and Irma Thomas are coming to Pittsburgh, Pa at the Byham Theater Wed Nov 8
The Heart and Soul Queen of New Orleans Tour comes to Pittsburgh, Nov 8th , with Irma Thomas, The Blind Boys of Alabama and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. This is one show you do not want to miss!
The Blind Boys of Alabama’s latest album Almost Home is getting rave reviews for returning to their roots, with the most front- to – back gospel album recorded in years.
Dream On has continued to mature since September. It has recently been confirmed that while the Preservation Hall Jazz Band horn section is in Pittsburgh for the November 8th concert. They will record on Dream On. https://youtu.be/qWB4UiRopLE
I will be providing more up-dates regarding the recording sessions for Dream On. There are definitely more additional performers to be added to Dream On.
As you may already know from my post on September 29, 2017 that another Ron Pullman Music song is in the works titled Dream On and once again the Blind Boys amazing vocals will be present.
As you may recall from that September post, Jimmy Hoyson and I flew to Denver in late September to catch The Blind Boys’ small window of open time on their tour. Rested and excited to sing is how Dream On was embraced by The Blind Boys and The Blind Boys Band.
Jimmy and I went to Denver to record Dream On with another reason in mind. That other reason was to record The Blind Boys band lineup they had in September. It was understood that two of the band members in the lineup at that time was to be changed which meant the amazing keyboardist Peter Levin of the Peter Levin Band and Peter’s funky, blues and soulful performances on Gregg Allman’s Southern Blood album fame (noted Peter was one of the very last performers who got to sit in on the last performance of the Allman Bros. Band) and The Blind Boys drummer Austin Moore who performed that incredible tribal beat on the Crossing The Threshold recording would be missing from Dream On.
The good news is Peter Levin has been reunited to the lineup and Austin Moore unfortunately will not be in the line for the Pittsburgh show.
